Recording Segment 1
So last weekend I finished recording the first segment of my album at my less-than-ideal “home studio”. I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out, albeit not even close to what the final product will be like.
It’s only about four tracks — three guitar and one bass. It’s certainly repetitive, but I’m going to add some little touches to it for when it becomes a 10 minute long segment on the final cut. You can download the file if you so choose:
segment1.mp3 (MP3 format, 128kbps, 4.78Mb)
It’s very much inspired by the likes of Bohren und der Club of Gore, but this only one segment of a planned 5 or 6, when things will get a lot different. The rest of it, from what I have in my head, is mostly inspired from other bands I frequently listen to, like Tool, dredg, and maybe a little Porcupine Tree.
Today I’ll be sitting down to record a part of the second segment, so I’ll post that as soon as I’m relatively satisfied with the way it turned out.
